My Journey to the ICMBF Conference in Athens

Embarking on the journey to the International Conference on Management, Business, and Finance (ICMBF) in Athens, Greece, required more than a little dedication and a thirst for knowledge. With no direct flights available, my journey from Ireland included a stopover in Switzerland, a scenic detour that turned the flight into an 8-hour journey. Despite the long hours, the promise of the conference and the allure of Athens kept my spirits high.

Upon landing in Athens, I was immediately awestruck by the city's unparalleled blend of ancient history and modern vibrancy. This cradle of Western civilisation, with its grandiose Acropolis dominating the skyline and quaint tavernas offering a taste of the Mediterranean life, exudes an irresistible charm.

One of the highlights of my trip was a city tour organised by the ICMBF conference. This guided journey took us through the city's iconic landmarks, from the majestic Parthenon, standing in testament to the city's ancient grandeur, to the lively Monastiraki Flea Market, buzzing with life and local culture. As we strolled through the charming Plaka district, with its narrow cobblestone streets and picturesque houses, I was captivated by the city's unique ability to marry the past and the present perfectly.

The ICMBF conference itself was an enriching experience. It presented an opportunity to connect with industry professionals, scholars, and researchers from around the globe. I had the privilege to present a poster representing my PhD research, focusing on the impact of transformational leadership on employee engagement in remote work settings.
