A Day at the Irish Academy of Management (IAM)

My journey to the Irish Academy of Management (IAM) conference began with a tranquil train ride from Athlone to Dublin. The 2-hour journey through the Irish countryside allowed me time to focus and prepare for the day of academic exchanges and discussions ahead.

Upon reaching Dublin, I visited the iconic Trinity College from Heuston Station. With its historic structures and verdant greenery, the college is an oasis of calm amid the city's hustle and bustle. A sense of history, knowledge, and tradition pervaded the atmosphere, filled me with inspiration.

The IAM conference was a dynamic melting pot of academics, scholars, lecturers, and industry professionals, all sharing a passion for management studies. Interacting with such a diverse group was intellectually stimulating, providing me with unique insights and perspectives. These discussions broadened my understanding, setting the stage for a productive day ahead.

A key part of my conference experience was the opportunity to present at the doctoral colloquium track. I had the chance to share my proposed PhD research, which focused on transformational leadership and its impact on employee engagement within remote working environments. The presentation sparked intriguing discussions, demonstrating my research's relevance and potential impact in today's digital work environment.

To my surprise and delight, my presentation was honoured as the best of the day. This recognition affirmed the significance of my research and its potential contribution to our understanding of leadership and remote work dynamics.

Looking back on my experience at the IAM conference, I'm filled with gratitude for the opportunity to engage with a community of like-minded professionals. It was a day of learning, connection, and recognition, reinforcing my passion for my research and the importance of contributing to the broader academic community. It has further ignited my dedication to my research, serving as a catalyst for continued learning and growth.
